Onyx Lighting by Obsidian is a freely available application that turns Windows PCs into full featured lighting consoles / DMX controllers for live production.
This app turns your phone or tablet into a remote control interface for the Onyx Lighting software.
- Your phone must be on the same network as the computer running Onyx.
- The computer running Onyx must also be running the Onyx Manager Program.
- In Onyx Manager, click Setup > Net Remote and turn on the Telnet Remote Server.Write down the port number (usually 2323).
- Identify the IP address of the computer running Onyx by clicking Start > Settings > Network > Ethernet > Properties, scroll down to where you can see IPv4 address and write down that number.
- Launch the app on your phone.
- Tap the settings icon in the top right of the screen.
- Enter the IPv4 address and the port you wrote down earlier.
- Tap Test Connection
- If it works, you can click the back arrow in the top left to start using the application..
